Coming in April

Hey All! It's finally beginning to feel a lot like Spring, and the symbolism of fresh, new growth and warming temps - yard crews out in droves to remove dead or dried up grasses, shrubs and branches in preparation for "plantings for display of the Lord's splendor" (Isaiah 61:3) cannot be lost on us!! So, to that end, with the governor softening the Covid mandates to begin to allow "small group gatherings" it is our intention to resume meeting IN PERSON for our DEEP WATER (Luke4:6) Discipleship study and conversation Thursday mornings and evenings April 15th to May 13th. We will be looking at the epistles of 1&2 Peter. Purpose of 1Peter: The same grace that restored the apostle Peter after his denial of Jesus, not once but 3 times over- is available to each of us as believers. Purpose of 2Peter: Jesus asks Peter 3 times if he loves Him before restoring and commissioning him (John21) and in this letter, we are reminded that spiritual growth is a process of learning to love which is the perfect expression of the life of Christ within every believer. And bottom line, Peter is a beautiful store of redemption & grace - perfect for this Easter season! Plans are for the morning session to be held at The Abbey from 9:30 to 11 and for the evening session to meet at Pawleys Island Community Church from 6:00 to 7:30 pm in the Building K on the first floor. If you cannot meet in person, please contact Michele at info@nbisc.org and we can make arrangements for you to FaceTime in to one of the groups. Check out our calendar for more details. So, get your vaccines, deal with Jesus if you have a fear of gathering, for that spirit did Not come from Him, and mark your calendars!! IT'S A NEW DAY! May you draw ever closer to our Lord Jesus during this Holy Week and rejoice with all believers and the angels on His Resurrection Day! He is Risen...The Lord is Risen indeed! God bless you! -- Acton

Come out and support our community garden at it's Earth Day celebration, Saturday, April 17 from 10 am-2pm. There will be kids activities, ice cones, plant sales and an opportunity to "celebrate our world in your garden". The garden is a project of the Carolina Human Reinvestment SC project. Adult volunteers are needed to help with work at the garden Monday, Wednesday & Friday mornings from 10 am to noon. Drop by and help out if you can! Check it out on Instagram: CHRGeorgetown.

What We’re Up To

Our brand new food trailer is wrapped and ready for ministry. We are still outfitting the interior with cooking implements and awaiting final certification from the State, so we hope to roll out within weeks. Each time the food trailer rolls out, it will be accompanied by a healing prayer team who will pray for the guests we serve so we can begin to build relationships and impact the lives of those in our local communities for their spiritual good and for God's glory. Watch for news of our Grand Opening and future fundraiser to support the purchasing of food that we'll give out. Special thanks to Cyndi Garris, owner of Sign World in Myrtle Beach for designing and producing the wrap for the trailer. We love it! Thank you to Pawleys Island Community Church for being our commissary kitchen and for housing the trailer on its parking lot.

NBISC Garden planting at Project Lighthouse

In April our team will plant a garden at Project Lighthouse drop in day center, to include herbs and vegetables so the youth there can enjoy things like fresh salsa and pickles. If anyone has a "green thumb" and would like to help us with the planting of the 10x10ft plot of land or contribute organic compost, cow manure, organic peat moss or herbs or vegetable plants, please email Mary at mcmahoney@windstream.net

Mark your calendars for our May Plant Sale fundraiser, May 7&8th!
