One Nation Under God

Summer blessings, ALL! Praying this finds you and your intimate circle of family & friends more & more feeling the shackles of this recent darkness of challenging politics and pandemic breaking into a new dawn! We at NBISC are beyond excited about upcoming opportunities no longer "on hold" to be the hands and feet of Jesus with various boots on the ground ministry. We've been invited to use our food truck throughout the summer months to serve at the Carolina Human Reinvestment SC community garden and to host our third Princess Party in August with discipleship follow up for the ladies of Georgetown Works in conjunction with Friendship Place. The introduction to the Book of Acts in The Passion Translation says that "discipleship is transformed in Acts (& forward to Acts 2:39) because after Pentecost believers are able to follow Jesus in ways they couldn't before they received the Holy Spirit. Because of the Spirit, this community is an active community on an intentional mission to bear witness to the risen Christ in both word & deed...so too is their care for one another & the world around them in the name of Jesus. Such a commitment to the mission and message of Christ finds its expression in all their lifestyle. Through their love for neighbors and God, prayer, perseverance in suffering, watchfulness, faith, joy & commitment to the lost, we find ON FIRE DISCIPLES of Jesus." We at NBISC aim to "be, go & do likewise" in His Name, For His Glory!!! Please read the following and check our calendar page for all we have going on and coming up! May you be set ON FIRE for Jesus! In His Love ---- Acton

CELEBRATIONS AT THE CHRSC COMMUNITY GARDEN

NBISC was thrilled to bring our food trailer to celebrations at the Carolina Human Reinvestment SC's community garden celebrations in June. The rains may have kept attendance down at the June 12 Open House, but it didn't dampen spirits of the volunteers and supporters from the community who came out for tours of the garden, refreshments from the food truck, live music and a silent auction to benefit the garden. It was a grand time in the garden. On June 30, we brought the food truck out to feed a meal and special dessert to the children and volunteers who worked with artist Scott Adams to create a beautiful mural for the CHRSC Community garden. The children worked for a week on the project and we had the privilege to pray over them and thank them for their work and treat them to a chicken and mac and cheese meal complete with the perfect garden dessert...dirt cake with gummy worms.

We are so excited to hostour 3rd Princess Party on August 7 for the women who have completed the Georgetown Works bootcamp. A Princess Party celebrates women who are Daughters of the King, as all women are, despite what other labels or situations Life has imposed on them. These Princess parties remind women of who they are in God's eyes...beloved, cherished, unconditionally loved, blameless, clean. Each guest is individually prayed for and healing comes in the form of accepting who they are in Christ.

They can begin afresh with the knowledge that "they can do all things through Christ who is (their) strength". You can partner with us in blessing and celebrating these women by donating money towards the brunch we will serve, donating pairs of earrings or other jewelry, scented soaps, hand creams, bath salts, anything that would make someone feel like a princess. Questions? Email Shannon at shannondavislpc@gmail.com.
